Nutrition is not only important, but it is also the foundation of life especially during the
teenage years. Many teens are usually skipping out on important nutrients needed due to being
busy with school or sports.

It’s common for them to skip meals like breakfast or lunch and over
eat on too much fatty foods. Teen years are the most important in starting good eating habits and
learning how to take care of their bodies. During this time young adults are going through both
physical and mental development.

Having a healthy diet at this age is essential for teenagers since
they have heightened nutritional needs and need to be able to keep up with their rapidly growing
body’s.

Inadequate nutritional intake and lack of exercise will slow down and weaken bone
growth, which can jeopardize their health in the future as well. Not only that, but the type of food
they eat as teenagers can impact how their health will be as adults. As teenagers mature, they
may continue some of their eating habits that were developed earlier in life.

Starting to take care
of their body’s during this stage in life will help give them a brighter, healthier future.
