Hi! I’m Yajayra Alarcon, welcome to my day 4 blog! Today’s 90s hip-hop artist is Ice Cube. Ice Cube was born in South Central Los Angeles in 1969. He got fame from the music group N.W.A, which was a very hard hitting hip-hop group. He started working on his first raps in high school. He started a group with two others in the mid 1980s. The group of three got the attention of an up and coming rapper, Andre Romelle Young, better known as Dr. Dre. They then teamed up with with three other rappers, DJ Yella, Eazy-E and MC Ren and formed N.W.A. The group had a very good run, selling millions of records, and having a big impact in the history of hip-hop.

He then left the group in 1989 because he wasn’t getting paid enough, and went off on his own in 1989. He has made a very good name for himself as an actor and an artist.

After living a life seeing people selling drugs, his friends being killed, and going to jail he became determined to make a better life for himself.

A year after he left N.W.A he released his first album AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted. He wasn’t just a rapper, but was also a producer and stepped out of hip-hop, and also worked with artists like David Bowie and Trent Reznor. Almost right after leaving the music group he launched his movie career. He starred in the movie “hood film, Boyz n the Hood” in 1992. He played big roles in many other films including Friday in 1995, Three Kings in 1999, and Barbershop in 2002. He now has 10 studio albums that have gone very far in the hip-hop world.

Thank you for joining me for my day 4 blog. I hope you come back to read my day 5!
