It didn’t look very promising for the Demons in the second round of the TOC contest as they fell to the Wichita East Blue Aces 76-58. Despite their best efforts, Dodge City failed to make points, making it difficult to catch up to the Aces.

Dodge attempted to move forward, but fell short 18-11, with East remaining in possession most of the quarter. The lead scorer for quarter one included Luke Gleason, 12, with a total of four points.

In the second quarter Dodge City continued to race to the top, but didn’t quite make it. The team struggled to maintain momentum and find the net. Senior Kaden Riekenberg, Adrian Mendoza, 11, and Noah Sowers, 12, put points in for Dodge totaling 15 points combined. In the end, the Red Demons were still behind 45-25, a significant fall.

The third quarter consisted with the Red Demons fighting hard to stay in the game, but they came short with 20 throughout this round. Senior Hunter Heath put 15 points in for Dodge City, with Sowers contributing seven. The final score at the end of quarter three was 64-44.

The fourth quarter was much the same, the Demons failed to come back. Heath continued to lead the team with a total of 14 points. Finally Dodge City lose in this round with the score of 76-58.

Tomorrow the Red Demons will play against the Leavenworth Pioneers at noon for seventh place.
